About Me

I was born in Northumberland, in the quiet northeast of England, and over the years I’ve called many places home and explored different paths in life. But through every chapter, one constant has been my love for fitness and wellbeing.
I fell in love with working out when I was introduced to TaeBo with Billy Blanks. I loved how strong I was becoming, and each time, I was getting better and better.
I studied Ecology and Conservation, with the idea of moving to Kenya and saving the elephants, but quickly realised this was not a viable career! All through university I ran bootcamp style classes for my fellow students and once I moved to London to volunteer for a conservation charity, my friends asked me why I didn’t make a living out of training others.
After one horrible day temping, I saw an advert in a newspaper about becoming a personal trainer and sports massage therapist and instantly called them. The next day I called in sick (technically I was sick, sick of the office job!) and visited the training academy. I signed up immediately and started the training the very next week! I have never looked back!
2006
I finished my level 3 Personal Trainer course (the highest at that time) with Sports Massage for Injury Rehab and began working at Barclays Bank Headquarters gym as a personal trainer, class instructor and massage therapist.
2008
I set up my own personal training business and secured clients such as London Business School, the Australian Embassy, Inmarsat and personal 1-1 clients who I trained in their homes and the beautiful parks of Hyde and Richmond. I discovered a real passion for coaching, supporting people not just physically, but through some of the most challenging times in their lives such as cancer, divorce, death and career changes.
2013
Had an early mid-life crisis before I turned 30 and packed my bags for Kenya! I picked a conservation project and a community project to see where my skills may lie and fell in love with community work.Training in local gyms, I met people navigating their own fitness journeys, often in tough circumstances, which reminded me that no matter where you are in the world or in life, fitness and wellbeing are powerful tools for building a better life.
2014
I worked with a rural NGO focused on getting girls into school and soon became involved in running self-defence classes for girls and women to help build their confidence. I also introduced boxing as a powerful outlet for young people to express themselves, release stress, and support their mental wellbeing.
2015
I moved to Tanzania to support a school in joining the United World College network through my fundraising work, and I began running weekly bootcamps for teachers, older students, and parents, bringing the school community together through movement and wellbeing. Coached several people as we trained to run the Kilimanjaro half marathon (which I ran 4 times!).
2019
Returned to Kenya and settled in Nairobi, continuing my half marathons (up to 10 now!) and working in fundraising and impact measurement. I met my husband (now a fitness enthusiast too!) and shifted to remote work. I kept exploring ways to stay active and eat well, learning what works in real life, not just on paper.
2024
Turned 40 and we welcomed our daughter, and I had the chance to explore my pre and post natal training, helping to stay strong and healthy during and after pregnancy and into perimenopause, rebuilding my body and supporting my mental wellbeing along the way.
2025
USAID cancelled all it's grants and the traditional aid world, as we knew it, fell apart, including losing my job. This opened up an opportunity to build my career around my family and do what I love and care about everyday....fitness and wellbeing!
